Ricardo Elgardo has been on the music scene for the last 20 years. As a Dj he started with a pair of 1210’s and soon after had a residency at The Royal Hotel in Southend playing his collection of Trance vinyl. As the years went on, Ricardo played in London clubs, on various pirate & internet stations and warmed up for headline DJs such as Judge Jules, Dave Pearce, Lisa Lashes and was booked to play at events such as Raindance & Cream when they came to Southend as well as promoting his own events around town. 

Moving forward to the present day, Ricardo holds residencies at Sun Of A Beach, Encore & Music Unity for Mental Health where he spins the music he is passionate about. Ricardo found his home on FunkySX back in 2020 with his brand ‘Excessive Progressive’ which airs every Monday 6.30pm - 8pm and showcases the very best in Progressive House, Melodic Techno, Organic House, Atmospheric/Progressive Breaks & Trance. His brand Excessive Progressive is also a mix series, club night and works with other promotors in the industry including The Sunset Projects & MU4MH.

As a producer, Ricardo has won awards and competitions. He produced a film soundtrack back in 2015 and won an award in Los Angeles at the Action On Film Festival for the film ‘The Liberator’. More recently in 2023 Ricardo won a producer competition with his organic house track Niwa, which then went on to be signed by big UK record label Krafted Digital and the track went on to feature on BBC Radio 1. He is currently signed to labels such as Krafted Digital, Boomtic Records, Alter Ego Progressive, Soluna Music to name a few and his tracks are always reaching the Beatport top 10 charts as well as being supported by some of the music scenes top djs.

Ricardo is always in the studio either working on his Excessive Progressive mix series or creating new music so keep an ear out for much more from him in the future!
